Leeds fans react as Gjanni Alioski produces moment of brilliance for North Macedonia on Tuesday night
Gjanni Alioski played 90 minutes on Tuesday as North Macedonia prepare to take part in their first major tournament. The Leeds ace impressed as Macedonia came from behind to equalise against Slovenia. Leeds fans have applauded the moment of genius from Alioski in a Macedonia shirt.
It is an intriguing time for Alioski. As things stand, the 29-year-old has played his last game for the club. He is out of contract on June 30, but the club say Alioski has been offered a new contract. Whether Alioski stays and signs a new deal, remains to be seen.
What have Leeds fans said about Alioski and his Macedonia assist?
He will have a couple of weeks left on his deal when Euro 2020 begins this month. But by the time the tournament ends, his deal will have expired. But it does not seem to phase Leeds’ no.10. Indeed, on Tuesday, Alioski was excellent and it was his brilliant, deep cross that found Eljif Elmas.
Macedonia took the lead on 55 minutes. Alioski advanced with the ball down the left (above) before producing a deep cross to find Napoli’s Elmas. Leeds fans caught wind of Alioski’s assist and many applauded their left-back, ahead of this month’s tournament.
