Gjanni Alioski has entered the final year of his Leeds United contract despite shining in the club’s excellent start to Premier League life – and Whites supporters have reacted to Alioski’s latest comments on his future.
Alioski, 28, has broken back into the first team under Marcelo Bielsa – shining at left-back and on the left of midfield. Initially out of the side with Stuart Dallas starting, Alioski has worked his way back in; Dallas moving into midfield.
The £2million [YEP] signing has been praised for his performances, once again impressing on Saturday as Leeds surprised many with a 1-0 win over Everton at Goodison Park. Raphinha provided the difference, but Alioski was excellent.
Speaking to BBC Radio Leeds, Alioski spoke about his current contract situation and stated that he would like to stay at Leeds – and is not thinking about a move. However, he did state that nothing had been agreed as of yet.

“Still nothing happened,” Alioski said. “I am here, my contract ends next year. I’m not thinking about leaving Leeds. I’m concentrated on playing for Leeds. Whatever happens, happens in the end, but of course I would love to stay.
“But I want to just enjoy the football and live in the moment. I see things in the media, but nothing has happened still. But I am focused on enjoying my time at Leeds,” Alioski – who earns £15,000 a week (Spotrac) – continued.
The left-footer is a fan favourite largely down to his character – whether that be winding opposition players up such as Nicolas Pepe, shaking the tunnel before kick-off or showing passion and love towards the supporters.
Leeds fans have reacted on Twitter to Alioski’s contract comments, and many have declared their love for the North Macedonia star. The overriding feeling among supporters is that they want to see Andrea Radrizzani hand Alioski a new deal.
