Leeds fans react as Crystal Palace set to sign £15m-rated midfielder on loan

Crystal Palace have reportedly won the race to sign Chelsea star Conor Gallagher on loan this summer. That is, despite TeamTalk claiming that he had agreed terms with Leeds and was even shown Thorp Arch. Leeds fans have reacted on Twitter to Gallagher’s reported decision to choose Palace.

Gallagher, 21, caught the eye during a loan spell at West Brom last season. Despite the Baggies suffering relegation from the Premier League, Gallagher – along with Sam Johnstone and Matheus Pereira – got pass marks. Returning to Chelsea, the £15m-rated (Sun) is likely to go out on loan again.

Football London recently claimed that it was a two-way battle between Leeds and Palace. He had spoken to Leeds a few weeks ago, while Patrick Vieira spoke to the England Under-21 ace via FaceTime. Now, TeamTalk say he was shown around at Thorp Arch – and terms had been agreed.

But TeamTalk also report that Palace have won the race to get Gallagher on loan for the 2021-22 campaign. Having starred at Swansea and West Brom, the hope is that he will now progress at a bigger Premier League club. Leeds fans have discussed Gallagher reportedly joining Palace on Twitter.
