Cody Drameh has posted on Instagram after an excellent performance during Leeds United’s Under-23 win over Newcastle United on Monday, suggesting he was not at his best – which has prompted reaction from Leeds supporters.
Mark Jackson’s Under-23 side are sitting pretty at the top of Premier League 2 Division 2 and went into Monday’s clash needing just three wins from the remaining five games to secure promotion into the top-flight of reserve-team football.
Drameh and his teammates delivered. Against a Newcastle side boasting first-team stars including Elliott Andersen, Christian Atsu and Henri Saivet – Leeds took the lead as Joe Gelhardt won and then scored a penalty. He got the assist for the second.
His corner was brilliantly headed in by Charlie Cresswell – son of ex-Leeds striker Richard. Drameh, starring on the right side of the defence, was one of the best players on the park throughout – but he did not think so, posting on Instagram.

Leeds fans have become well-accustomed to their Under-23 stars with the Yorkshore side streaming the second-string matches live on Twitter, and many have watched the summer signing from Fulham sparkle – either as a right-back, or in a back three.
Again, he was one of the best players on the park alongside Gelhardt and Cresswell – while Elia Caprile was sensational between the sticks. Atsu did get one back, but Leeds won 2-1. Many fans disagree with his claim on Instagram, though.
Indeed, many are stunned that £1million (Sun) Drameh has suggested he was not as good as he should have been – with many of the opinion that he produced one of his best performances of the current campaign.
