Leeds are reportedly still interested in signing Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez this summer as the Uruguayan midfielder continues to impress in Serie A – and Leeds fans have reacted on Twitter to the latest reports.
Nandez, 25, was strongly linked with a move to Leeds last summer as the Whites looked to bring in another midfielder to add depth. Rodrigo De Paul was another that was pursued, while Michael Cuisance failed a medical.
Uruguay international Nandez, meanwhile, has enjoyed an excellent second season with Cagliari on a personal level – but the club itself are in the midst of a relegation dogfight. They are level on points with 18th-placed Benevento.

Italian website Cento Trentuno have claimed that Leeds are still interested, having made a bid for the ex-Boca Juniors midfielder towards the end of last summer’s window. It is believed he has a £30.5million release clause.
But Cagliari are willing to do business at the slightly smaller figure of £26million – a fee that would see Nandez become the club’s second most-expensive signing behind Rodrigo. He has a contract in Italy until June 2024.
Andrea Radrizzani is said to be close with Tommaso Giulini, Cagliari’s owner, and that if they made a bid then Cagliari would be open to his exit. Leeds fans have responded to the reports on Twitter, urging their club to get him.
