Sam Greenwood is quickly emerging as one of Leeds United’s biggest talents as he continues to shine for the Under-23 side, but the club reportedly decided to reject an exciting loan move away on deadline day – and Whites fans have reacted on Twitter.
Greenwood, 18, joined Leeds in the summer from Arsenal on a permanent basis – believed to be in the region of £3million (Mail). He has since starred for the Yorkshire side in Premier League 2 for the reserves, and has been handed a first-team debut.
Indeed, the England Under-18 star has scored six goals in 10 games for Mark Jackson’s reserves. He has also shown versatility, playing up front but also out wide and as a 10 – Marcelo Bielsa is renowned for liking players that can play in multiple positions.

The Yorkshire Evening Post quoted The Telegraph’s transfer expert Mike McGrath on their deadline-day blog (11.31AM), as saying that Leeds had rejected a loan offer from Swansea for Greenwood – as covered by The Boot Room on Monday.
But did Leeds make the right decision? Greenwood is some way down the pecking order when it comes to the first team. Patrick Bamford is first choice, while Tyler Roberts and Rodrigo are probably back-up. But did he need to leave on loan?
Is he better served to impress in the reserves, or go on loan and get first-team game time? Some Leeds fans feel the Whites made the wrong decision in rejecting a move to an exciting Championship side in Swansea.
