Leeds United reportedly made an offer to sign Gjanni Alioski’s North Macedonia teammate Eljif Elmas in the summer from Italian side Napoli but saw their eight-figure offer rejected – and Whites fans want him signed.
Elmas, 21, has starred for both club and country over the past 12 months. Under Gennaro Gattuso, he has become a regular in Napoli’s engine room especially since Allan left the club to join Everton in the summer.
Along with Alioski, he also helped North Macedonia qualify for their first major tournament – Euro 2021 next summer. His form has not gone unnoticed since he joined Napoli from Fenerbahce, with Leeds seemingly taking an interest in the recent window.

Transfer expert Ciro Venerato has told Italian website Napoli Piu that Leeds made an offer worth £22.5million for Elmas – along with Benfica and German Bundesliga duo Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig. But Napoli said no to a sale.
He remains a crucial part of the Napoli side with president Aurelio De Laurentiis – who is renowned for being a tough negotiator – desperate to see him stay in sky blue. If Leeds remain interested, they certainly face a fight to get the midfielder.
Leeds supporters have reacted on Twitter to the reported news that the Whites made an offer to sign Elmas in the summer – but had a big offer of £22.5million rejected. Many believe the club should go back in and sign him.
