Leeds fans react as club reportedly ‘interested’ in £10m-rated England player

Leeds United are reportedly interested in signing West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Sam Johnstone with the Baggies seemingly about to be relegated to the Championship this season – and Leeds fans have reacted on Twitter to the reports.

Johnstone, 28, has been in sensational form for the Baggies this season – despite the club looking destined for the Championship, even though they beat Chelsea 5-2 last time out. He has conceded a whopping 57 goals in just 29 games.

But looking past the goals he has conceded, and only managing to secure five clean sheets – Johnstone has been West Brom’s best player this season. The former Manchester United man has even earned a place in the latest England squad.

The Express & Star have claimed that West Brom will accept offers in the region of £10million for Johnstone if the Baggies do go down this season. There are plenty that are likely to be interested, with The Sun claiming Tottenham have shortlisted him.

The Express & Star say Leeds are ‘believed to be interested’ in Johnstone and Whites fans have reacted on Twitter to the reports that Marcelo Bielsa’s side are keen on the England stopper. It has been met with a mixed reaction.

Some think he would be a good signing and that Leeds need competition for Illan Meslier, while others want Meslier as no.1.
