Leeds fans react as club reportedly in talks to sign £12m-rated Swede

Leeds United are reportedly keen on signing Sweden international Jens Cajuste and are in talks to land the FC Midtjylland ace. They are one of four Premier League clubs keen, with Crystal Palace, Wolves and Newcastle also keen. Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to discuss signing Cajuste.

Still only 21, Cajuste was a part of Sweden’s Euro 2021 side and even made a substitute appearance during the 0-0 draw with Spain. The holding midfielder has now played 69 times for Midtjylland – but was not a part of the side that drew with Celtic on Tuesday night.

Swedish newspaper Expressen claim that Leeds are in talks over a move to sign Cajuste, with a move potentially ‘imminent’. But Leeds are not the only club in talks to sign £12million-rated ace, with Newcastle, Wolves and Palace all talking to the player’s agent. He has a contract until 2023.

What are Leeds fans saying about Cajuste?

Leeds do need a midfielder this summer. Ideally, they need a midfielder that can cover Kalvin Phillips when the England ace is unavailable. They also need a midfielder that can just as easily play as a 6 or an 8 – and perhaps one with the creativity of a 10. Rodrigo De Paul was perfect.

Cajuste lacks the attacking know how of a 10. However, he is more than adept at playing slightly further forward than his natural anchoring role. Leeds fans have reacted on Twitter to the potential arrival of Cajuste. Many think he would be a good addition in the coming weeks and months.
