Leeds United are reportedly interested in signing Sevilla attacker Lucas Ocampos but could face competition from Premier League champions Liverpool ahead of the summer window – and many Whites fans want to see the Argentine signed.

Argentina international Ocampos, 26, caught the eye last season when he joined the club from Marseille – scoring 17 goals and laying on five assists in 44 appearances for Julian Lopetegui’s side. He helped Sevilla win the Europa League.

The Mail say Leeds are ‘thought to be keen’ in signing the attacker this summer – while Liverpool are also said to be interested in signing the ex-Marseille man. A player, that was signed by Marcelo Bielsa at Marseille in January 2015, initially on loan.

Ocampos is said to have a very expensive £56million release clause in his Sevilla contract, but it remains to be seen if the Argentine will be allowed to leave the La Liga side for a fee smaller than the exit fee that is included in his contract.

Leeds fans have reacted on Twitter to the reports that the club are interested in luring Ocampos to Elland Road to form a reunion with Bielsa, and many believe he will be a brilliant signing for the club – even though there is a belief it will not happen.
