Leeds fans react as club reportedly eye £14.5m star on loan, West Brom keen
Leeds United are battling West Brom for USA international Daryl Dike, with a potential loan deal on the cards – and Leeds fans have reacted on Twitter.
Dike, 21, will be remembered for his nine goals in 19 Championship games while on loan at Barnsley during the second half of last season.
He has eight USA caps to his name and three goals while also netting 10 times for current side Orlando City. But a move is expected this summer.
Leeds are keen to land Dike on loan. But West Brom are leading the charge, given ex-Barnsley boss Valerian Ismael is now at the Hawthorns.
What do Leeds fans think of Dike?
His form was excellent last term. The striker has shown he can score in England, and while the Premier League is a step up, Dike is a good signing.
For both sides, that is. Leeds need cover for Patrick Bamford. Tyler Roberts and Rodrigo provide that, but they are not the last-man striker needed.
When Leeds do not have Bamford starting, they struggle to keep the ball in the final third. Tuesday night’s showing without Bamford was proof.
West Brom, meanwhile, will want added firepower in their bid to return to the Premier League at the first attempt. Ismael knows Dike, obviously.
Reports from the Orlando Sentinel – as per the MLS site – say he is rated at £14.5million. Leeds fans have reacted, urging their club to sign Dike.
