Leeds fans react as club reportedly battling Everton for Real Madrid winger Lucas Vazquez

Leeds United are reportedly one of four clubs interested in signing Real Madrid attacker Lucas Vazquez as the Spain international looks set to leave the Spanish side in the summer – and Leeds fans have responded on Twitter.

Vazquez, 29, has been a rotation player for Real Madrid ever since he broke into the Galacticos side. He has clocked up 231 appearances in all competitions for the Spanish side, but is now out of contract in the summer.

Spain international Vazquez has found his game time much easier to come by this season, but only after Zinedine Zidane changed the winger into a right-back to cover the injury-prone Dani Carvajal. He has played 25 times in all competitions.

Spanish website Cuatro claim four clubs are interested, with Leeds keen. However, they face competition from Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton – with Ancelotti himself said to be keen. Italian giants Napoli and AC Milan are interested in him.

The report states that Leeds are willing to hand Vazquez a contract worth £83,000 a week, a big increase on his current wage which is in the region of £50,000. Leeds boast Raphinha, Helder Costa, Jack Harrison and Ian Poveda on the wings.

But they lack competition for Luke Ayling at right-back and Vazquez could be brought in to rival the ex-Arsenal man. Indeed, Leeds fans have reacted on Twitter to the news that they are looking at the Real Madrid man, and many want him signed.
