Leeds United have reportedly agreed to complete the signing of Barcelona striker Rafa Mujica this summer as recruitment for the club’s Under-23 side continues – and Leeds fans have reacted on Twitter.
Spanish newspaper Marca reckon the 20-year-old has agreed a move to Leeds, as his contract with Barcelona looks set to expire at the end of the season. No new deal has been tabled for the Spanish striker.
Leeds have previously lured two young players from Barcelona’s La Masia academy in recent years, in the form of Bulgarian striker Kun Temenuzhkov and Oriol Rey. They have both made their senior debuts for the Whites.
Now, Mujica could be brought in to rival both Ryan Edmondson and Kun for the striker role in Carlos Corberan’s second string. Edmondson could be promoted to the first team this summer, leaving space behind for Mujica.

Mujica has not been as prolific as you would expect for Barcelona’s B-team, though. He has only netted 10 times in 60 matches, but it must be said that playing in Barcelona’s second string is classed as senior football in its own right.
That is because the B-team play in the third tier of professional football in Spain, meaning Mujica has 60 professional appearances to his name. This season, he has scored seven in 33 outings – starting only 23 of those.
Leeds fans have reacted on Twitter to the news that the youngster could be on his way to Elland Road at the end of his contract, but many could not make up their mind on Mujica.
