Leeds fans react as club linked with Norwegian talent Emil Bohinen

Leeds United have reportedly turned their attention to Stabaek midfielder Emil Bohinen with under a fortnight left to run in the January transfer window – and some Whites fans are excited at the prospect of the Norwegian in a Leeds shirt.

The Yorkshire Evening Post have claimed that Leeds are eyeing the 20-year-old talent, who has already clocked up an impressive 49 senior outings for top-tier Norwegian side Stabaek. He has scored four goals, and created eight more.

Naturally a central midfielder, Bohinen is also able to play in the 10 role, cover for Kalvin Phillips or even out wide. He has represented Norway’s Under-21 side on nine occasions, also scoring once for the Scandinavian country.

Son of former Nottingham Forest man Lars, Bohinen’s contract at Stabaek is expected to expire at the end of the calendar year. It means he will be allowed to talk to foreign sides from June 31 under the Bosman rule on a pre-contract agreement.

Leeds do have options in central midfield but injuries throughout the campaign to Adam Forshaw – which is still ongoing – as well as Tyler Roberts and Jamie Shackleton, may have tempted Leeds into signing a new central midfielder.

Bohinen is also said to have had a trial at Sheffield United of late, and Leeds fans have reacted on Twitter to the reported news that their club could lure the young Norwegian to Yorkshire. Many believes he would a good addition.
