Leeds United have been linked with a move for Liverpool wonderkid Harry Wilson if the club gain promotion to the Premier League come the end of the season – and Leeds fans have gone into meltdown on Twitter.
The Sun claimed in their paper edition on Sunday (March 3, page 61) that the 21-year-old is interesting Marcelo Bielsa’s side. His excellent form on loan at Derby County will have prompted the interest.
Wales international Wilson has scored 12 goals from midfield in the Championship this season, as well as creating four more in assists during his 34 league and cup appearances.
Leeds have plenty of talent in attacking midfield. Bielsa has used the likes of Pablo Hernandez, Matuesz Klich, Adam Forshaw and recently Tyler Roberts. Samu Saiz is also set to return to Elland Road in the summer.
Wilson has become renowned for his ability to score from long range. A wand of a left foot, Wilson is one of Liverpool’s most exciting prospects to come through the academy in recent years.
The report does not determine whether a move from Leeds would be on loan, or indeed permanently. Goal claim Wilson is worth £20million and he has a contract at Anfield until the summer of 2023.
Leeds fans reacted to the reports that their side were interested in signing Wilson – if promotion is obtained. The majority are desperate to see the Welsh wizard in a Leeds shirt.
If we go up this season we need to break the bank for Bowen from Hull & Wilson from Liverpool #lufc

Harry Wilson? We are just taunting Frank at this stage #lufc

Why not? We won’t compete with them if we go up and they’ll want Wilson to get a prem loan, working under Bielsa at a big club too, perfect fit for his next move if we go up

Good player would be good to have him in prem if we get there 👍
