Leeds United confirmed the signing of defender Robin Koch on Saturday night – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter went wild over the deal.

The Whites announced on their official website that they have signed the 24-year-old from German club Freiburg on a four-year deal and it’s an undisclosed fee.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side had previously announced the signature of striker Rodrigo Moreno from Valencia and it’s been a busy day of arrivals at Elland Road, with the strength being strengthened considerably with some fresh faces.

Despite the fact Leeds have been unable to re-sign Ben White, they have now added a senior Germany international to their squad.

Koch is a ball-playing centre-back that impressed for Freiburg last season in the Bundesliga and will now get a chance to play in the Premier League for the first time in his career.

The Yorkshire club are currently preparing for life back in the top-flight following promotion last season and they have made a real statement of intent by signing both Rodrigo and Koch on the same day.
