Carlos Corberan has posted on Twitter after guiding his Leeds United Under-23 side to the Professional Development League North title on Monday night – and Whites fans have reacted in their drones.
Spanish boss Corberan, 35, is renowned for his work in Saudi Arabia, acting as assistant manager at Ittihad FC and Al-Nassr FC. He has also worked as an academy manager at Spanish side Alcorcon.
Thomas Christiansen’s move from Cyprus to Leeds saw Corberan join, and Marcelo Bielsa has since made the Under-23 manager a member of his staff on the senior bench – as well as continuing in his role as reserve boss.
Corberan has excelled. Helped by Bielsa’s usage of the reserve side and excellent crop of youth, the intelligent Corberan has seen his side win the title after a 2-0 win over Colchester on Monday night. He posted on Twitter.
Powerful striker Ryan Edmondson scored both goals as Leeds beat Colchester 2-0, pipping Burnley to the title. The likes of Izzy Brown, Jack Clarke, Leif Davis, Robbie Gotts and Jamie Shackleton all played.
Leeds fans reacted to Corberan’s Tweet, with many congratulating and applauding the work he has done since arriving at the club. Many also claimed that he would be the perfect suitor, should Bielsa leave.
