Leeds United have confirmed that on-loan defender Bryce Hosannah has put pen to paper on a new contract at Elland Road that is expected to keep him at the club until the summer of 2022 – and Leeds fans have responded.
Hosannah, 21, penned a deal in September 2019 that was due to keep him at the club until the summer of 2021 – but Leeds have decided to reward his Under-23 and on-loan performances by extending that for another year.
The former Crystal Palace academy product had been a regular in Mark Jackson’s Under-23 side earlier this season, starting and finishing the second string’s first three Premier League 2 outings.
However, having spent the last couple of seasons in the reserves without breaking into the first team, Hosannah opted to move on loan and has since joined League Two side Bradford City – where he is already first choice.
Playing alongside former Leeds defender Paudie O’Connor, Hosannah has started five of the seven league games he has been available for – even being used as a right-winger as well as a right-back for Stuart McCall’s men.
Leeds fans reacted on Twitter to the news that Hosannah had agreed new terms with Leeds – keeping him at the club for the next two seasons, and many think the decision to keep Hosannah is the right one.
