Leeds fans react as Bristol City sign emergency goalkeeper before Saturday clash

Stefan Marinovic has joined Bristol City as an emergency goalkeeper ahead of Saturday’s Championship clash against Leeds United at Ashton Gate – and Leeds fans reacted in a confident manner.

Current Robins goalkeepers Niki Mäenpää and Frank Fielding are currently injured, leaving the Robins with little options between the sticks. Marinovic has been brought in to replace the crocked duo.

Marinovic, 27, has 23 caps with New Zealand. He was last seen playing for Vancouver Whitecaps in the MLS, where he managed just 36 appearances in 18 months. He conceded a huge 60 goals in that time.

He will now go head to head with youngster Max O’Leary for a place between the sticks, after signing a contract at Ashton Gate until the end of the season.
