Barry Douglas has been dropped from Leeds United’s starting XI to face Stoke City despite an impressive performance against Blackburn Rovers last time out – and Whites fans feel Marcelo Bielsa has been harsh on the left footer.
Douglas, 30, was a somewhat surprising inclusion in the Leeds side last time out that cruised past Blackburn to strengthen their automatic promotion hopes. He was one of Whites’ best performers on the left side of the defence.
The one-time Scotland international was expected to retain his place in Marcelo Bielsa’s side to take on Stoke City at Elland Road on Thursday evening, but Bielsa has chosen otherwide – selecting Stuart Dallas at left-back.
Both Helder Costa and Stuart Dallas missed the 3-1 win over Blackburn in whioch Kalvin Phillips, Patrick Bamford and Mateusz Klich scored, but they both return in place of Douglas and Gjanni Alioski.
? Two changes to the side which defeated Blackburn on Saturday. Dallas and Costa return to the Starting XI

West Brom’s 2-0 win over Derby County on Wednesday evening has seen Leeds drop into second, while Charlton could not stop Brentford from winning 2-1 late on during Tuesday night’s encounter. It has piled the pressure on Leeds to secure three points.
Whites fans reacted to the news that left-back and one-time Scotland international Douglas had been dropped, and many feel it is harsh on the former Wolves man – who has entered the final 12 months of his contract at Elland Road.
