Erling Braut Håland blew fans away as he scored nine goals for Norway at the Under-20 World Cup on Thursday evening against Honduras – and Leeds United fans are desperate to sign the striker.
Haland, 18, is the son of former Leeds star Alf Inge Håland, famous for being on the receiving end of Roy Keane’s horror-revenge tackle. Indeed, the young attacker was born in Leeds.
He has scored 20 senior goals in 50 outings for Molde’s first team, before moving to Austrian outfit RedBull Salzburg in January. Now, he is set to alert Europe’s biggest clubs as he found the back of the net nine times.
In a World Cup group game, Håland was lethal in front of goal. All of his strikes came from within the penalty area, but what was a noticeable was the power he generated with his trusty left foot.

But that fox-in-the-box style of striker was something Leeds missed this season, with Marcelo Bielsa consistently ruing his side’s inability to convert golden chances into goals.
Håland’s nine goals in Group C of the competition in Poland caught Leeds fans’ attention, and many reacted by urging their club to sign him. One fan even Tweeted owner Andrea Radrizzani, pleading the Italian to sign him.
Some Leeds fans also Tweeted his father Alf, after the ex-Leeds and Manchester City star spoke of his pride on Twitter.
