Leeds fans react as £1.5m man suffers injury on international duty
Leeds star Lewis Bate captained and scored for England’s Under-20’s on Thursday – but Leeds fans are frustrated, after he suffered an injury.
Bate, 18, joined Leeds in the summer from Chelsea for a fee of £1.5million (Goal). He has since been impressing for the club’s Under-23 side in PL2.
His performances have certainly caught the eye among supporters. Some are already of the opinion that he deserves a chance in the first team.
Indeed, Leeds do need depth in the middle of the park. Bate will have caught the eye against Italy on Thursday, in front of Marcelo Bielsa.
With the armband, Bate scored England Under-20’s only goal of the game in a 1-1 draw with Italy. Bielsa watched on, at Chesterfield’s home ground.
However, it did not all go the way of Bate and his England side – which also included Cody Drameh and Sam Greenwood. Italy had scored first.
Not only that, but Bate was replaced by Arsenal talent Miguel Azeez on 73 minutes – with Graham Smyth reporting that Bate had suffered an injury.-

Bate is a top talent and certainly, was on the verge of at least being included in the Leeds squad for a senior game. So his injury will be a blow.
Bielsa will be hoping that Bate is returning soon, so he can keep the momentum high – and prove why he deserves to be in the first team.
Leeds fans bemoaned the potential injury suffered by Bate on Thursday evening, with many excited at the prospect of Bate in the senior side.
