Leeds fans rave about right-back Bryce Hosannah after Fulham win

Bryce Hosannah saw out the entire 120 minutes at right-back as Leeds United’s Under-23 side earned a penalty-shootout victory over Fulham in the Premier League Cup – and Whites fans were wowed by the defender.

The 19-year-old defender has been a regular fixture of Carlos Corberan’s side. He was given the chance to shine once again at Nethemoor Park, as Leeds took on Premier League 2 opposition in the west Londoners.

Solid in defence, Hosannah was used as an attacking outlet on the right flank. He was pivotal in Leeds gaining an unlikely equaliser through Chelsea loanee Izzy Brown in the 77th minute.

Running beyond Jack Clarke on the right flank, Hosannah was played through on the byline and his low cross was inch-perfect for Brown to finish coolly and give 10-man Leeds the chance to progress.

The match went to extra time and then penalties with the score level at 2-2 – Ryan Edmondson scored a first-half penalty for Leeds. Hosannah was not among the takers, but his contribution was excellent.

Leeds fans raved over the former Crystal Palace youth academy star on Twitter. Hosannah also deflected some cheeky criticism from goalkeeper Will Huffer, who claimed he had “no bottle” for opting against taking a penalty.
