Leeds fans rave about ‘outstanding’ Luke Ayling after beating West Brom

Leeds United delivered one of the performances of the season on Friday night in the Championship to beat West Brom 4-0 at Elland Road.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side moved back on top of the league table after blowing away a promotion rival in style.

The Whites were in front of after just 16 seconds through a Pablo Hernandez thunderbolt, while Patrick Bamford added a second in the first-half.

Bamford and then Ezgjan Alioski completed the scoring in the second period in what was a memorable fixture that could have big implications in the promotion race.

Many Leeds fans on Twitter after the game singled out defender Luke Ayling for his performance and he’s someone that has received his fair share of criticism recently.

But the praise came flooding in for the right-back, who looked back to near his best against West Brom and dealt well with attacker Dwight Gayle.

Ayling is an ever-present in the team and someone that Bielsa has stood by, which was proven a good decision with his defensive display.

The 27-year-old also looked far more comfortable on the ball and when joining in with the attack than he has recently.
