Leeds fans rage at Helder Costa’s display against Sheffield Wednesday

Leeds United were beaten 2-0 at home to Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter voiced their frustration towards the display of Helder Costa.

The Portuguese attacker kept his spot in the starting line up in Saturday’s Yorkshire derby, but was substituted off in the second-half after failing to make much of an impact.

He lacked composure in front of goal, while the same could be said for his teammates in the final third too.

Despite dominating possession, Sheffield Wednesday scored two quick-fire goals late on through Jacob Murphy and Atdhe Nuhiu to snatch maximum points.

The Whites have a six-point cushion inside the automatic promotion spots of the Championship, but are nervously looking over their shoulder at the chasing pack.

A selection of Leeds supporters on social media picked out Costa for criticism following his latest display.

The right-winger has become an ever-present in the past couple of months in the XI and started to rediscover his Wolverhampton Wanderers form at times.

But he wasn’t quite at the race as an attacking force against Sheffield Wednesday and eventual was withdrawn as a result.
