Leeds United Under-23s side recorded a narrow win over Middlesbrough on Friday afternoon – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter were massively impressed with their attacker Sam Greenwood.

The Yorkshire club secured a 1-0 home victory at Thorp Arch in the Premier League 2 fixture and it took until the closing stages to wrap up three points.

Greenwood tucked in a composed finish in the 86th minute for his side after a ball was played through the Boro defence.

The 18-year-old has made a stunning start to his Leeds career since he joined in the summer from Arsenal in a £1.5million deal (Daily Mail).

He is a clinical centre-forward that has now scored five goals in his opening four appearances for the Under-23s side, netting a hat-trick recently against Sunderland.

A selection of Leeds supporters on social media were left raving about the English teenager for his latest performance and there are plenty that are convinced a first-team call-up won’t be too far away.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side already have the likes of Patrick Bamford and Rodrigo, but Greenwood looks a natural finisher in front of goal and the senior manager will certainly be aware of his talents.

Whites manager Bielsa has never been afraid to throw youngsters into the senior group and all Greenwood can do is continue to impress at youth level with more goals.
