Leeds United’s Under-23s side were beaten by Derby County on Friday night – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter picked out their teenager Niall Huggins as a real positive following his performance.
The Whites were beaten 2-1 in the Premier League Cup fixture, which means they will exit the competition int he group stage.
Carlos Corberan’s side used senior players Barry Douglas, Kalvin Phillips, Jean-Kevin Augustin and Ian Poveda during the contest to get some minutes in their legs.
But ultimately the Yorkshire club were narrowly beaten at at York City’s Bootham Crescent ground.
Leeds’ first-team now turn their attention to a trip to Nottingham Forest on Saturday evening in the Championship and it’s a vital game to keep their promotion bid in a good position.

A selection of Leeds supporters on social media were left praising Huggins for his contribution for the Under-23s side, despite the presence of some more senior figures.
The 19-year-old attacker looked a creative threat for his side against Derby and saw an effort in the second-half blocked on the goal-line to deny an equaliser.
He is a highly-rated talent that has represented Wales in their Under-21s side and he’s impressing in the youth ranks at Elland Road.
Huggins has managed to make a decent step up with the Whites Under-23s after signing a one year professional contract in the summer.
