Leeds fans praise Luke Ayling after display in Huddersfield victory

Luke Ayling’s remarkable goalscoring form continued in the victory over Huddersfield Town on Saturday – and some Leeds United fans on Twitter were left amazed by the quality of his latest display.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side moved to the top of the Championship above West Brom by beating Yorkshire neighbours Huddersfield 2-0 at Elland Road.

Ayling netted the opener with his third goal in five games and it was an incredible volley that he rocketed in off the underside of the bar.

The 28-year-old defender has become such an attacking threat of late and is in a purple patch of form.

Patrick Bamford then netted a second inside the box with a simple finish and importantly Leeds have now stretched their lead over third-placed Fulham to seven points, which leaves closing in on automatic promotion with nine games now remaining in the season.

A selection of Leeds supporters on social media were waxing lyrical about Ayling after his performance and believe he’s one of the standout stars in the squad.

The attack-minded right-back has shown what he can do going forward, but defensively he kept the impressive Karlan Grant quiet in the match and is someone playing with supreme confidence.
