‘In credit today’: Leeds fans praise Illan Meslier despite Arsenal hammering

It was another miserable day at the office for Leeds United this evening as they were hammered by Arsenal at Elland Road on a cold and damp night in West Yorkshire.

The Whites are ravaged by injury and Arsenal took full advantage, as goals from Martinelli (2), Saka, and Smith Rowe ensured the Gunners will spend Xmas in the top four.

For Leeds, who also lost Jack Harrison on the night through injury, it’s back to the drawing board and Marcelo Bielsa now faces a huge fight on his hands to even keep this team in the Premier League. If they are to stay up, though, the performances of Illan Meslier will be key.

Despite conceding four, Meslier ensured the scoreline was more than respectable and he seems to be getting better by the week, in spite of Leeds’ poor run. And over on Twitter, Leeds fans were quick to acknowledge the performance of Meslier.
