Leeds United managed to come from behind to draw 1-1 with Manchester City on Saturday evening – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter were blown away with the impact of Ian Poveda off the bench.
Despite going behind to a Raheem Sterling goal in the 17th minute at Elland Road, the Whites rallied to produce an excellent performance as they went toe-to-toe with world-class opposition.
The Yorkshire giants ended up drawing the Premier League fixture courtesy of Rodrigo’s second-half goal, as he capitalised on a rare mistake from goalkeeper Ederson.
Marcelo Bielsa’s team had opportunities to win the match, but it was another indication that they belong in the top-flight and they currently sit fifth in the league table.

A selection of Leeds supporters on social media picked out Poveda as a huge positive from the weekend’s match, as he came of the bench to great effort and proved a point.
The 20-year-old winger was introduced by the manager at half-time and he terrorised Man City’s left-back Benjamin Mendy for large spells with his directness.
He is a rapid attacker that looked to drive forward whenever he was in possession and was part of a Leeds side that played aggressively, despite facing a skilful opponent.
