Leeds United suffered a 2-1 home defeat against West Ham on Friday night in the Premier League, which means they now have four points from their last six games to highlight a significant drop off in form.

The Whites were beaten at Elland Road by visitors West Ham, who deserved their three points in Yorkshire after an encouraging performance that saw them carve out plenty of goalscoring opportunities.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side took an early lead when Mateuez Klich converted his penalty at the second attempt, with goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski deemed to be off his line for the first spot-kick.

But Tomas Soucek levelled for West Ham in the 25th minute with his towering header and they were a massive threat all game from set-pieces.

Angelo Ogbonna powered in a header in the 80th minute to clinch three points for the visitors, who moved up to fifth in the league table after tonight’s result.

A selection of Leeds supporters on social media felt that their defender Luke Ayling did deserve some credit for his performance on Friday night.

The versatile right-back slotted into a more central position and was involved in a battle with Sebastien Haller.

Despite the 29-year-old end up on the losing side, some Leeds fans were complimentary about his contribution:
