Leeds fans on Twitter urge Orta to make Ollie Watkins move immediately

A number of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to implore the club to get straight on with attempting to sign Ollie Watkins after Brentford’s play-off final defeat on Tuesday night.

The Bees will not be joining Marcelo Bielsa’s side in the Premier League next year. Two goals from Joe Bryan in extra-time saw Fulham win 2-1 at Wembley.

It will have stunned many that Thomas Frank’s side have missed out on promotion. But for some Leeds fans, they are hoping that a transfer door has been opened.

The Sunday Mirror (2/8; page 67) reported at the weekend that Bielsa had made signing Watkins a priority for this window.

However, the report claimed that Brentford being promoted would almost completely dash any hopes Leeds have of signing the forward.

But with Brentford falling short in the play-off final, many are imploring Victor Orta to waste no time in making a move for the £30 million-rated forward.

Watkins was outstanding throughout the campaign. He scored 26 goals for the Bees, and the supporters are clearly hoping that he will be offered the chance to lead the line for Leeds next season.

Here is how some of the supporters reacted in the wake of the play-off final result…
