Leeds fans miserable about Stuart Dallas return against Aston Villa

Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa has confirmed (Yorkshire Evening Post) that Stuart Dallas will be recalled to the team at the weekend – and some of the club’s supporters are worried about him.

The Whites host Aston Villa on Sunday at Elland Road, by which time any chance of automatic promotion may be gone if the top two get results on Saturday.

Bielsa’s team need to try lift themselves ahead of the potential route of the play-offs and are preparing to face a Villa team that have won a stunning 10 league games in succession.

Leeds are without both Ezgjan Alioski and Barry Douglas for the rest of the season through injury, which leaves the left-back spot extremely vacant.

Bielsa has explained that Dallas is the only option to slot into the full-back area against Villa.

Alioski got injured early in the previous game during the defeat to Brentford and it was Dallas that replaced him from the bench.

The Northern Ireland international will now get a recall to the XI in his place and it’s set to be his first league start since December.

He’s mainly been used as a substitute this term by the Yorkshire giants and is a winger by trade.

But Dallas has frequently slotted in at either right-back or left-back when required and he will be needed for the latter against Villa.

A selection of Leeds fans are not too optimistic about his return to the side.
