Leeds fans love what they saw from Cody Drameh against Arsenal
Cody Drameh was handed his senior debut for Leeds United on Tuesday night as the Whites lost to Arsenal – and Leeds fans are impressed.
The two sides met in the last 16 of the competition at The Emirates, in a clash that saw Ben White and Eddie Nketiah start against their old side.
In what was a close first half with both sides lacking in any end product, Arsenal took it up a level in the second 45. Calum Chambers scored.
Coming off the bench, Chambers netted seconds later – heading home a cross from Nicolas Pepe. Not long after, Nketiah scored.
A mistake from Liam Cooper saw Nketiah race through and lift the ball over Illan Meslier. Although he almost missed, he tapped home to make it two.
Arsenal progress into the last 16 – but there were positives for Leeds and Under-23’s defender Drameh was certainly one of those in London.
What are Leeds fans saying about Drameh after Arsenal defeat?
The 19-year-old defender has been one of the mainstays of the Under-23 side, shining under Mark Jackson. He already has 32 second-team games.
Drameh has found Luke Ayling pretty hard to get past, with Jamie Shackleton and Stuart Dallas used on the right side of the defence.
Leeds fans were impressed with Drameh on Tuesday night, proving incredibly solid against Gabriel Martinelli – despite the 2-0 defeat.
