Darren Bent has told TalkSPORT (Tuesday, 8.15AM) that there is no chance Marcelo Bielsa would leave Leeds United to join Tottenham Hotspur this summer – amid both Jamie O’Hara and Tim Sherwood touting the Argentine for the Spurs job.
Spurs remain in the market for a new manager ahead of the summer, after sacking Jose Mourinho just six days before the Carabao Cup final. Interim manager Ryan Mason has since guided Spurs to a win over Southampton, but defeat on Sunday.
The Telegraph say that England boss Gareth Southgate, Belgium’s Roberto Martinez and Ajax and Leicester managers Erik Ten Hag and Brendan Rodgers are in the framce – but Julian Nagelsmann has agreed to join Bayern Munich from RB Leipzig.
O’Hara and Sherwoood have both touted Bielsa as a potential candidate. O’Hara told TalkSPORT: “I would say Bielsa. I think he’d be absolutely brilliant and the fans would love him,” while Sherwoold told Optus Sport: “I would pick Bielsa.”

Leeds fans were left bemused by the suggestions. Bielsa is out of contract this summer but is renowned for extending his deal at the end of every season, and has already stated that he sees himself remaining at Leeds for the rest of his managerial career.
Speaking on TalkSPORT on Monday morning, Bent responded to whether Bielsa would be a good fit in North London: “He isn’t going to leave Leeds. They have a project going on, just gained promotion, he isn’t going anywhere. I love watching them play.”
Leeds fans responded to ex-Tottenham striker Bent’s comments, and applauded the TalkSPORT pundit for suggesting what they have been saying all along – that Bielsa is not going to leave Elland Road, despite his current contract situation.
