Leeds United beat Derby County in the first leg of their play-off semi-final tie on Saturday – and some of the club’s supporters were impressed by rival player Duane Holmes.

Marcelo Bielsa’s team have a 1-0 scoreline to protect ahead of the second leg at Elland Road on Wednesday, as they secured a narrow victory at Pride Park.

Kemar Roofe scored the only goal of the game with a clinical finish inside the penalty area, as he latched onto a pass from winger Jack Harrison.

The Yorkshire giants have taken a step towards the play-off final to face Aston Villa or West Brom, but still have work to do against Derby in the second leg.

A selection of Leeds fans on social media picked out Derby ace Holmes for his positive display against them, as they feel he was a serious threat.

The 24-year-old is an attacking midfielder that can play in a central role behind the striker or also out wide with his blistering pace.

He showed some real positive moments on the ball before he was substituted off by manager Frank Lampard and looked an attacking threat.

Leeds will need to ensure they pay close attention to him next week, as they have just a slender one-goal lead.
