Leeds fans hoping Dan James will shine against Norwich City

Daniel James can help boost Leeds United’s chase for promotion by helping Swansea beat top-of-the-table Norwich City on Friday night at Carrow Road – and Leeds fans have urged him to do just that on Twitter.

The 21-year-old came close to signing for Leeds in the January transfer window. An announcement was expected to be made in the final hours of the window, but nothing materialised.

Swansea are said to have changed their valuation at the last minute, before ignoring calls from Leeds. The Whites had agreed a £1.5million loan, which would have been made permanent in the summer for another £8.5million.

That is according to BBC Sport, who also claim that James had passed a medical at Elland Road prior to his switch. Now, he can help what nearly became his new side, by conquering the Canaries.

The Wales international has been in excellent form since breaking into the Swansea side this season. He has had a hand in nine goals, scoring three times against Birmingham, Brentford and indeed Norwich.

Leeds fans will be watching on, praying that Swansea can get a result against Daniel Farke’s side in east Anglia. A draw for Norwich and a win for Leeds against Bristol City would see the two sides go level on points.

The Elland Road fanbase took to Twitter to gee up James, with hope that he can help Swansea beat Norwich. One fan Tweeted: “hat-trick tonight.”
