Leeds fans have questioned Kamil Miazek on Twitter after 7-1 Derby defeat

Leeds United’s Under-23 side were battered by an experienced Derby County side on Wednesday night in the Premier League Cup as The Rams ran out 7-1 winners – and Leeds fans have questioned goalkeeper Kamil Miazek on Twitter.

Leeds named a youthful side, with only Leif Davis, Jordan Stevens and Ryan Edmondson boasting any first-team experience. Meanwhile, Derby named a team with enormous first-team experience and ultimately it proved fatal for the Whites.

Attacking midfielder Kieran Dowell started the match, as did striker Mason Bennett who played against Leeds in the Championship play-offs last season. Goalkeeper Ben Hamer and left-back Craig Forsyth also started the match.

Leeds were taught a lesson at Loughborough University, as Bennett got his name on the score sheet. Derby captain Max Bird also netted, while Louie Sibley got a hat-trick and summer signing Jahmal Hector-Ingram scored two more.

Substitute Josh Galloway scored a late consolation for Leeds in the 93rd minute, with the Whites now forced to lick their wounds before taking on Barnsley next Monday. They face Derby at home in the Premier League Cup in February.

Miazek, 23, is yet to make his first-team debut for Leeds but has appeared on the bench a handful of times. His contract expires at the end of the season and although he made a number of good saves, Leeds fans have criticised the Polish stopper.
