Leeds United recorded a goalless draw away to Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter picked out defender Ben White for huge praise following his performance.

The Whites drew 0-0 with their Yorkshire rivals at Hillsborough, as both teams missed some good opportunities in front of goal.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side missed the chance to move top of the division ahead of West Brom and stay in second.

Leeds host QPR on Saturday in their next match and there is a close race going on between a number of teams to be around the top of the table.

A selection of Leeds supporters on social media felt that White was a colossus at the back and was a real standout performer.

The centre-back has been a huge success since his loan arrival from Brighton in the summer and is playing like one of the best defenders in the Championship on a weekly basis.

He managed to handle the Wednesday attackers with his pace and power, while the way he reads the game suggests he could be an elite player in the future.

White has quickly made himself a major favourite with the club’s fanbase and he is crucial to the promotion bid.
