Mateusz Bogusz left his mark in the win over Western Sydney Wanderers in pre-season – and some of the Leeds United fans on Twitter were blown away by their teenager’s display.
The 17-year-old is part of the squad out in Australia and helped his team secure a 2-1 victory at the weekend.
Bogusz opened the scoring with an excellent left-footed finish, as he ran onto the ball outside the box and fired into the roof of the net.
Pablo Hernandez ended up scoring a stoppage time winner with a stunning individual goal, but the Whites as a team could have been more clinical with their chances.
Bogusz is someone that is impressing during pre-season and will hope there is a path to the first-team for him at Elland Road
The teenager linked up with the Under-23s side after moving to Yorkshire back in January and has been named on the bench for a competitive first-team game, but is waiting for his senior bow.
He is a central midfielder that is technically capable in possession and likes to drive forward into attack.
The Poland youth international will have seen the likes of Jack Clarke and Jamie Shackleton breakthrough to the senior team last season, so he may feel he’s next from that production line.
A selection of Leeds supporters were impressed with Bogusz, as he played 82 minutes with some senior teammates and caught the eye.
One even suggested that he could be the next Samuel Saiz, who was a popular creative playmaker for the Whites before his permanent exit to Girona this summer.
