Andi Weimann scored an incredible hat-trick for Bristol City on Saturday afternoon as the Robins shocked Sheffield United to win 3-2 at Bramall Lane – and Leeds United fans have applauded the Austrian on Twitter.
Leeds started Saturday sitting a point behind Sheffield United in third place, and four behind Norwich City. They faced Millwall at Elland Road in what is always a heated contest.
Despite going behind twice, Leeds produced a memorable comeback to beat Neil Harris’ side 3-2. But the win was made even sweeter as Bristol City came from 2-1 down to Sheffield United to win by the same scoreline as Leeds.

Indeed, former Aston Villa striker Weimann took his tally to nine league goals this season, after joining the Robins from Derby County last summer for a fee of £2million (Bristol Post).
Sheffield United losing – thanks to Weimann – makes Leeds’ victory over Millwall even sweeter. Marcelo Bielsa’s men leapfrog Chris Wilder’s side into second. Norwich beat Middlesbrough, so they remain four points clear.
Leeds fans are not interested in winning the league, they are just keen to gain promotion via the top two. With that in mind, many supporters applauded Weimann for his efforts. One fans described him as “a beautiful man”.
