Leeds fans discuss West Ham’s reported pursuit of Ronaldo Vieira

West Ham United are reportedly rivalling Burnley for Sampdoria midfielder Ronaldo Vieira with an initial £12million bid from David Moyes’ side being rejected – and Leeds United fans have reacted on Twitter to reports about their former player.

Vieira, 21, is shining for Serie A side Sampdoria this seasno after a difficult first campaign with the club. He has clocked up 21 appearances in all competitions for Blucerchiati – having only played 14 times in the entirety of last season.

Another example of Leeds’ excellent academy, Vieira broke into the senior side under Garry Monk and played 71 times before Marcelo Bielsa arrived in the summer of 2018. Despite Bielsa wanting to keep him, Leeds sold Vieira to Sampdoria.

The England youth international was sold for a bargain £6.2million and now The Daily Star claim West Ham are being informed that they will have to almost triple that figure if they are to nab his signature before Friday’s 11pm deadline.

Both West Ham and Burnley are interested in the former Leeds man, with West Ham making the first move – though they had a £12million bid rejected. Sampdoria want as much as £17million for their young Englishman.

He has a contract until the summer of 2023 at Sampdoria, and Leeds fans have now discussed reports linking Vieira with a move back to England for a much bigger price. Some supporters wished they kept Vieira, while others want their side to consider re-signing him.
