Tyler Roberts scored a penalty but failed to prevent Leeds United’s U-23 side losing 2-1 to Chelsea – and Leeds fans have responded to his goal on Twitter.
Roberts, 22, was thrown in to the starting line-up after returning from international duty with Wales – to play for the club’s U-23 side on Friday.
A tricky match, as Mark Jackson’s side came into the game without a Premier League 2 win in six. That run stretched to seven at Thorp Arch.
Xavier Mbuyamba gave Chelsea an early two-goal lead with two efforts from set-pieces. Ex-Leeds midfielder Lewis Baker was playing for Chelsea.
The ex-England Under-21 man’s delivery into the box bamboozled Leeds’ young defence, which was without Cody Drameh and Charlie Cresswell.
After 12 league games, Leeds sit in a lowly 10th place – as Baker scored a third from the penalty spot for Chelsea. Tyler Roberts did score for Leeds.

What are Leeds fans saying about Roberts, after his penalty?
The £10million-rated (Mail) striker offered little in his 45-minute display, before coming off at half-time ahead of Sunday’s clash against Tottenham.
But when he had the chance to score, he did so with aplomb – slotting the ball into the left-hand corner, sending the keeper the wrong way.
Leeds fans have had their say on Roberts on Twitter following his goal, praising the ex-West Brom and Oxford United forward.
