West Ham United have confirmed that goalkeeper Adrian will leave the east London club this summer as his contract expires on June 30 – and Leeds United fans have discussed signing the Spanish goalkeeper.

Adrian, 32, joined West Ham in the summer of 2013 from Real Betis. He has since clocked up 150 appearances for the Hammers, conceding 213 goals in that time but also clocking up 43 clean sheets.

Known for his shot-stopping and leadership, the Hammers have opted against renewing his contract. Spotrac claimed that Adrian was earning £50,000 a week at the London Stadium.

West Ham have now confirmed on their official website that Adrian will be leaving their club, along with striker Andy Carroll and playmaker Samir Nasri as well as a whole host of youth players.

Leeds signed Kiko Casilla from Real Madrid in the January window to replace Bailey Peacock-Farrell, who remains the club’s number two. But Casilla has come under huge criticism, not least for his mistake in the play-off semi-final.

Leeds fans reacted to the news that Adrian will become a free agent this summer and many have urged Marcelo Bielsa to lure the goalkeeper to Elland Road this summer, to replace fellow countryman Casilla between the sticks.
