Pascal Struijk scored his first professional goal on Sunday evening but failed to prevent Leeds United suffering a 4-2 defeat to Arsenal at The Emirates – and his goal has prompted plenty of debate from Leeds fans on Twitter, following the loss.
A Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang hat-trick – the Arsenal captain’s first in the Premier League – put Leeds to the sword and they failed to recover from it. Hector Bellerin also scored, with Illan Meslier at fault for two of the four goals.
It saw Arsenal lead in the 48th minute by four goals to nil. Struijk, 21, clocked up his 21st senior appearance for Marcelo Bielsa’s side since joining the club from Ajax in January 2018 – and scored his first goal.

Leeds are notoriously poor from corners – both defending and attacking – but the combination of new signing Raphinha and up-and-coming talent Struijk saw Leeds take advantage, with Struijk planting a powerful header into the top corner.
The Netherlands youth international showed determination to meet the ball and his run and leap left David Luiz on the deck – such is the power of the left-footed star. His goal gave Leeds a route back into the match, with Helder Costa also netting.
However, it proved too little. But many Leeds supporters looked at the positives and one was the header of Struijk – with many applauding his goal after the match, labelling the header as “world class” and “satisying”.
