Marcelo Bielsa has said it is possible that Leeds United could bring in some new signings in the January window, if they are financially worth it – and Leeds fans have responded on Twitter.
Leeds have been rocked ahead of their trip to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea – with Liam Cooper, Kalvin Phillips and Patrick Bamford all picking up hamstring injuries. Robin Koch is also sidelined, still.
Such news has seen Leeds fans urge their club to bring a couple of new players to the club in the January window. Certainly, the Whites lack depth in the middle of the park, and perhaps up front too.
Leeds have had to rely on Raphinha to score goals with Bamford sidelined, and it looks likely the England international will miss the trip to his old club. It comes after missing 10 league games in a row, before Brentford.
Asked about potential signings in January, Bielsa told Thursday’s press conference that there could be additions in the January window – but only if they are financially viable, available, and improve the team.

“With respect to signings: like I always say, any player the club is in conditions to sign better than what we have, it would be welcome, but we all know the difficulties of the winter market,” Bielsa said.
“It’s difficult to find players that are competing, that don’t have a place in the team they’re in. Normally those competing have a space within their team. It is not simple.”
What are Leeds fans saying about Bielsa and his January comments?
There is no question that all Leeds fans see Bielsa is the man that has got them back to where they belong. A genius, he has masterminded a Championship squad and turned them into a mid-table Premier League side.
But his lack of depth is often questioned, especially when there are injuries and this time around, that is the case once again. Leeds fans are keen for signings, but disheartened by their gaffer’s comments.
