Leeds fans discuss Adam Forshaw as Marcelo Bielsa gives fitness update

Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa has confirmed that long-term injury absentee Adam Forshaw has trained with the squad – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter have responded by claiming he will be like a new signing when fully fit again.

The English midfielder hasn’t played for 12 months after requiring surgery on his hip, but it seems like his rehabilitation is heading in the right direction.

He started the 2019/20 campaign strongly for the Whites and played every minute of the opening six games of the season, proving he is highly rated by the manager.

But the 28-year-old watched on for the rest of the season as his teammates achieved an incredible promotion from the Championship as title-winners and they are now a Premier League side.

There is no official timeline on when Forshaw will be available for selection yet, but Bielsa did give an update in his Thursday press conference.

“Forshaw is taking part in collective training today apart from any actual playing of football. Next week his rehabilitation will continue,” Bielsa said, as quoted by Leeds Live.

A selection of Leeds supporters on social media are excited about the prospect of having Forshaw back and believe he will be like a new signing for the squad.

He is an all-action central midfielder that is clever on the ball and has a great work-rate, plus he’s one of the few in the squad with some form of top-flight experience.
