Leeds United were unlucky not to nab all three points on Tuesday night as they played out a 1-1 draw with Brentford at Griffin Park – but Whites supporters are not impressed with the display of winger Helder Costa.
Kiko Casilla came into the match under intense pressure from both supporters and pundits, and the one-time Spain international was guilty of another howler – allowing Brentford to open the scoring.
A pass from Liam Cooper looked innocuous, but Casilla let the ball run under his foot before stumbling to the ground. Said Benrahma duly profited, tapping the ball home with ease. But that goal seemed to galvanise the Whites.
Despite playing against the Championship’s second-highest top scorers in Brentford at Griffin Park, Leeds limited the on-fire front three of Benrahma, Ollie Watkins and Bryan Mbuemo to just two shots on target throughout.
Going forward, Leeds had chances. Eventually, captain Liam Cooper stabbed the ball home after a tantalising Jack Harrison corner completely befuddled Brentford goalkeeper David Raya. Leeds perhaps shaded proceedings, but it ended 1-1.
However, Leeds fans were disappointed with Costa. The Portugal international, who is set to agree a £15million (Mirror) permanent move to Leeds in the summer after initially joining the Whites on loan, was hardly at his best.
Many believe he has been a “waste of money” since joining the club.

I actually like Costa but thought he was dire tonight #lufc

Can’t we just refuse to sign Costa and settle in court like we did with Stewart? #LUFC

Good runs, holds up the ball, good passer of the ball, strong with a bit of pace. I'd love to see him on that wing instead of that waste of space Costa
