Leeds fans demand Helder Costa switches position

Helder Costa has been struggling of late to find his best form at Elland Road – and some Leeds United fans on Twitter insist that he should be deployed in a new position by manager Marcelo Bielsa.

The 25-year-old is a rapid attacker that was eased into the club by Bielsa at the beginning of the season and he only earned his first league start at the end of September.

He joined from Wolverhampton Wanderers on a season-long loan and that will become permanent next summer.

But the Portuguese winger certainly needs to do more for the Whites and try replicate the kind of form he previously had at Molineux.

Costa has one goal and three assists in 13 Leeds games so far this season across all competitions, but he’s made very little impact in the league and been more successful in the cup.

The trickster has mainly been deployed on the right flank, which allows him to drift inside on his favoured left foot and also try trouble full-backs with his pace.

A selection of Leeds supporters on social media all agree that Costa struggles to impact matches on the right and have suggested him moving over to the left.

Jack Harrison has nailed down his spot in the XI this season as the left-winger, but his performances have been inconsistent and his end product doesn’t always match his brilliant work-rate.
