Should results go their way, Leeds United could have the chance to secure promotion on Thursday when they host Barnsley at Elland Road. At the very least, they can take another giant step towards the Premier League.

After slipping up in their first game following the season’s resumption, the Whites have taken 13 points from a possible 15 in their last five games. And they currently find themselves six points clear of third place Brentford with nine left to play for.

Marcelo Bielsa may have a couple of selection headaches to contend with heading into Thursday. Pablo Hernandez is smashing down the door, let alone simply knocking on it.

Meanwhile, Bielsa also has a decision to make in goal. For the first time since February, Kiko Casilla is available for selection.

Casilla has missed the last eight games after being found guilty of using racist language during a game earlier this season.

And in his place, Illan Meslier has largely been superb. The Frenchman has kept five clean sheets in his eight league appearances, and looked incredibly assured during his time in the side.

It remains to be seen if Bielsa will be at all tempted to bring Casilla back in. But what is clear is that many supporters have little interest in seeing Meslier miss out against the Tykes.

On the pitch, Casilla has had a turbulent time at Leeds. There have been some extremely costly errors as well as some fantastic performances.

But with Meslier currently impressing and Leeds on the kind of run they need to secure promotion, plenty of fans have implored Bielsa to stick with Meslier despite Casilla’s availability.

Here is what some of the fans were saying about the goalkeeper situation ahead of Thursday…
